We are excited to announce we will be offering pre-orders for Mike Fudge's long awaited Kub vinyl figure! We have been working on this project for a very long time. We first revealed the figure at Designer Con 2017 and after some set backs with the project, we finally moved into production earlier this year. The figure came out amazing so the set backs were worth the wait!

The OG edition of the 7" vinyl figure will be limited to just 150 pieces world wide and available for $75 each. Pre-order's will begin Wednesday July 24th at Noon EST with delivery scheduled for in Fall 2019. To reserve yours before they are gone make sure to drop by.

SPONGEBOB SQUARECAT - by RATO KIM

The charming and lovely Rato Kim has teamed up with Nickelodeon to mash up the BOXCAT Platform Toy, with that annoyingly lovable little yellow bastard SpongeBob Squarepants, to make SPONGEBOB SQUARECAT!

And they are being developed by the award winning Sofubi [Soft Vinyl] toy manufacturing dynamo known as UNBOX Industries. We love them and you should too!

And before anyone gets all trolly over this post, I like to remind our readers here at Underground Blend that I am the biggest hater of corporate licensed crap you will find on any Designer Toy blog online. Seriously, this is Gavriel Discordia we are talking about here, I start flame wars over what is and isn't a designer toy on social media myself, all the time.

This is a Corporate Licensed Designer Toy, because the Artist and their Signature Platform are featured up front and center in this toys execution and delivery.

Apparently someone really hip to the Designer Toy Scene is working at Nickelodeon because this is not the first Designer Toy we have seen from the network this year. Check out our feature on the Jason Freeny's SpongeBob Dissectibles Blind Box Series.

This item is not yet available for sale, and no word yet about what event it will be launched at. Although we suspect Designer Con is a safe bet for an Event Specific Public Launch.

DIY SPRAY CAN X Various Artists

Discordia Merchandising, with the help of Colus, brought DIY Spray Can Vinyl Toy to life. This is a look at what has been done with it so far. Most of the ones featured here art part of the Say It Don't Spray It custom toy show at Mothership Art Gallery in Philly.

DIY MISS CUPCAKE XL - GOAL MADE

The stripped down relaunched DIY Miss Cupcake XL project met Goal yesterday, in 10 days, just as we knew it would. In fact we actually meant for this project to end today. Due to an unfortunate error it will wrap up the 14th of June instead. Though this will have no bearing on the Production and Fulfillment Schedule. We did pre-finance this project like we do all our Kickstarter Preorders for DIY Toys.

At this point the project turns its focus to Stretch Goals. 

$1500 Raised will provide ALL Rewards with one Issue of Clutter Magazine.

$3000 Raised will provide ALL Rewards with a Miss Cupcake Mini-Print signed by Olive47.

$6000 Raised we commission a 12 foot tall Inflatable Miss Cupcake and present it at DCon2018. Then give it to Olive47 to do as she pleases with it.

$1,000,000 Raised and we will take all the money, run away, buy an Island, set up the sovereign nation of 'Creatopia'. You will then all recieve an invitation to come live there.

TAKE A KNEE - from Munky King

Most likely to be on display at this years DCON, little if anything is known about this project. We do know it was produced by Munky King and designed by KaNO! What its actually called? Will this item have an actual paint job? I have no idea.

What I do know is it's sure to be a conversation piece.

Clearly it is a representation of Kaepernick in the Take a Knee pose. And done in solidarity with the spirit of that statement. An acknowledgment that racial inequities are a problem in America.

Here the questions will be raised. Should art make controversial political statements? And should Munky King risk loosing clients by taking the side of justice and equality?

Yes and yes.

The best art does. And the best people do.
