I have a new Pop Surrealism sculpture release available starting today
entitled "Emblem of an Abstract Riot no.2". It's the followup to the
Mickey Mouse inspired version first released back in 2015.
The phrase "emblem of an abstract" comes from the essay "On the Rights
of the Molotov Man" published back in 2007 in Harper's Magazine. It
discusses copyright and appropriation in the art world. At the time I
had been threatened with a copyright infringement lawsuit and this topic
was close to home. The "Emblem of an Abstract Riot" sculpture
originally was a reaction to the lawsuit.
"Emblem of an Abstract Riot no.2" measures 6 x 6 x 3.75 inches. Available to order through the webshop http://patrickwong.bigcartel.com, the handcrafted resin art-multiples are priced at $200 and available for a limited time.
